Chateau Carpe Diem

In the very heart of Green Provence and the gates of the Haut Var, halfway between the Gorges du Verdon and the Mediterranean Sea, the beautiful village of Cotignac stands with panache at the foot of a majestic rock. Among fragrant hills and lush green planes, nature expresses itself with generosity.

Vineyards, centuries old olive trees and cypress hedges sign a landscape of character carved by men. Provence, in all its generosity but sometimes its violence…

This is where the Philipon family has chosen to give meaning to its life. Their project mirrors the centuries old oak tree that stands proudly at the entrance of the estate. A long-term endeavor, an undertaking of passion, toil and learning vines and wines, along road.

Today, the vineyards cover 14 hectares in AOP Côtes de Provence. It is grown according to the principles of organic farming. Soils are predominantly clay-limestone, dolomite, ranging in color from pale yellow to deep wine lees red. They are developed on marine geological formations dating from the early Jurassic (over 200 million years). In this small natural paradise, they produce white, rosé and red stemming from the traditional Provencal grape varieties, which are the true expression of the terroir. Wines that are the focus of much attention. Wines to gladden the human heart.

Carpe Diem….
